Yvonne Porter, founder of New Hattitude on Cancer

Life threw Yvonne Porter the kind of curveball no one prepares for. While pregnant with her third child - already a devoted mother of two - she received a diagnosis that would change everything: breast cancer. In a season that should have been filled with anticipation, baby showers, and nursery plans, she was instead handed scans, appointments, and impossible questions about her own future and the future of the little life she was carrying.

But Yvonne refused to let fear write her story. With faith as her foundation and her family as her motivation, she walked through treatment with a grace that defied every odd stacked against her. She prayed when the days felt too heavy and fought when her body wanted to give in. She kept showing up - for her doctors, for her children, and for the baby still kicking beneath her heart, the daily reminder that she was carrying life even as she fought for her own.

What emerged on the other side was more than survival. It was a renewed sense of purpose. Yvonne discovered that the very things meant to diminish her - the diagnosis, the loss, the long and uncertain days - had instead crowned her with strength, wisdom, and a deep heart for other women walking the same road. The hats she had once worn to cover became symbols of confidence, beauty, and unshakable identity. A new "Hattitude" was born.

From that conviction, New Hattitude on Cancer, Inc. was founded - an organization built on the belief that no woman should face breast cancer alone, and that every survivor deserves to feel beautiful, supported, and seen. Through healthy eating, lifestyle change, and spiritual encouragement, Yvonne's mission empowers women to rediscover joy, embrace their beauty, and walk in grace through every chapter of their journey.

Today, Yvonne stands as a wife, mother of three, survivor, and leader - living proof that beauty and purpose can rise out of the hardest seasons. Each tea, each gathering, and each life touched continues the promise she made on the other side of her diagnosis: that no woman in this fight would walk it alone. Her story is our story. From curveball to crown.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

- Romans 8:28 (KJV)
